The one trait every top creative eventually develops
most creative folks, be it designers, editors, writers, coders... have this one ability that most miss, and it's what keeps them at top of your their game.
and its something everyone goes through but some take the opportunity to really break through it.
it's not, creativity or adaptability or consistency that most of us might be thinking...
but it's something even Viral Kohli believes in... that is the ability to work under pressure and take that as a privilege
because if you are good at what you do, naturally, there'll be immense expectation for you to deliver.
that's just beauty of pressure. i have played cricket since i was 7 years old.
i remember playing with senior school team guys, we were 5/6 down with only 30-40 runs on the board, an 8 year old walks out on the field, scores decent runs with bowlers double my height.
i have same expectation from my team... its unsaid one. its something that comes if one is working with me.
honestly, i don't like to get on calls and tell folks this is your expectation.
that's something i do once or twice in the beginning and as i see teammates improve, i share them videos or references on how i am imagining them to be next....
that's a signal i send them through... to reach new level. high performing teams really have less time to think through and go through feedback cycles. more feedback cycles means something is wrong.
so pressure is fun.. don't buckle under it. don't be satisfied with your present work... be brutal... to be the best.
if you think your edit was cool, but by the end of the year, you have a different perspective, means you have outgrown your older version.
so work under pressure, because it's a privilege.
